Message from the President

To All,

It will be my honor to serve as the President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Maricopa, IAFF Local 4561.  I would like to take a few moments to welcome the members as well as any visitors that may be interested in learning about us.  I am looking forward to my term as President, and hope to continue building our union into respected, unified and professional organization that we can all be proud to be part of.

Through the Labor/Management process that was established in our last Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the union has been able to accomplish quite a lot.  The ability to have input on the policies and procedures that drive our department, by having a voice in the budget talks and how they will affect the membership and by establishing a mutually repspected relationship that allows us to maintain staffing, equipment and our dispatch resource during these difficult economic times.

In the near future we are looking at implementing a request, that you as members had asked for, the 48/96 work schedule.  This change, as well as some department policies, will help not only the members but will have a true impact on the budget and increase the work/life balance that we all strive to have.

As President, I am not looking at changing what was been established in the past, rather to expand and provide new ideas and processes to allow our local to continue to prosper and move forward proactively.
